The reason I am gathering some Dofus guides about how to make a steady income. Note that this guide will not make you a millionaire at noce, rather helping you to make a steady income on a daily basis. It is aimed for Solar, or any new and developing server with few smithmaguses on them.


Getting Started

One of the most profitable professions in the game is Jewelmagus. One of the easiest to get, too. You will need to get level 65 Jeweller first, so let’s see what it would cost you. Assuming the reason you are reading this is because you are poor as hell and want to make some kumarz to buy the dream set/scroll/present to your virtual wife, I will present you the cheapest way to get there.

First thing is, do NOT spend your kamas on unneeded crap. From now on, every dime you put your hands on goes to the profession fund, no scrolling mats, no nice equips that barely makes you stronger and cost a fortune, nothing. Always be patient when you run out of resources; just because you need 100 Gobball Salivas to hit level 30 Jeweller, it does not mean you should buy the last batch out of the sellrooms for 30kk. Remember, you aim for level 65, not anything lower. The only important thing is to get there as cheap as you can.

After picking up Jeweller, your first goal is to reach level 20, so 2-slot recipes do not fail anymore. That is 8.097 xp, aka 816 crafts. Now since you are aiming for level 65, that means you will need to craft 3-slots for 5 levels, so your best bet is crafting Small Wolf, Small Owl and Small Bear Amulets, make 272 of each. At the end of this part, I will sum up the resources used and an approximate pricing, too.

You got to level 20, so it is time to make Nimbly rings. You may ask: „Hey szi, why would I make 2-slots when I can craft 4-slots?” Because you are poor, and you are looking forward to reach as high as you can with as small amount of kamas spent as possible. Also, Nimbly rings = Small Agility scrolls, meaning you can expect to get your money back in a short period of time after crafting rings and selling scrolls. Level 60 is 100.421 xp, aka 9247 crafts.

After level 60, you no longer get experience from 2-slots, so it is time to move on to Lars Amulets, made from the 2-slots in your bank. After finishing these, Gobball Amulets all the way to 65. This will be 740 amulets, after that you can go pick up Jewelmagus and start grinding on it.

- 272 Ash – 15k ea = 4.080
- 272 Walnut – 30k ea = 8.160
- 272 Chestnut – 20k ea = 5.440
- 9519 Iron – 40k ea = 380.760
- 272 Copper – 50k ea = 13.600
- 272 Bronze – 20k ea = 5.440
- 9247 Gobball Saliva – 60k ea = 554.820
- 740 Gobbal Horn – 180k ea = 133.220
- 740 White Gob Leather – 80k ea = 59.200
- 740 Gobball Wool – 20k ea = 14.800

Total: 1.179.520 kamas

Income:
- 92 Small Agi scrolls – 12.000k ea

Total: 1.104.000 kamas


Levelling a Magus Profession

Crush Gobball Amulets. You will get Fo and Ine runes, so the most efficient way to level your profession is to mage a Purple, Pink, Blue or Green Piwi ring. Piwi rings are very easy to overmage, and if you do it in a non-natural stat, you gain 50 xp per added stat point. Crushing 740 Gobball Ammies will not get you too far, but it is perfectly enough to get to somewhere around level 40-50 and still have some runes to waste.

I think I should add here that you do not have to be level 100 to mage items like Prespic Rings efficiently. Of course it is less likely to fail at higher levels, but your aim is not maging Moowolf Amulets for 10kk every month, rather than maging the most popular items around for profit. These items happen to be either very cheap or easy to make. Note that you can make 4-slots now without failing on them, and that opens up a vast selection of low level items that most people need:

- Silimelle’s Wedding Ring: Diamonds cost somewhere around 80-90kk, rest of the ores you need are so cheap I do not even mention it. Make ring, mage it up to 29 Wisdom, sell it for 150kk.
- Fortifying and Mental Rings: can easily be maged up to 30+ Strength or Intelligence, and Astrub fellows buy them like candy. Remember, you are not aiming to reach 40 in a specific stat to brag with your level 11 ring, rather making profit in the most cost effective way. Burning 500 runes on a Fortifying ring is, well, outright stupid. Also, keep in mind that these do not sell well in Bonta, so aim for F2P territory only.
- Prespic Rings: now this is where the real money is. I was farming Prespic Peaks and evetually dropped around 40 rings. First I was about to crush them or throw them away at Astrub Zaap, but then I thought I give it a go and mage them to sell. Unmaged Prespic Rings sell for around 5-10kk usually, but the maged ones... I sold them for 40-55kk each, depending on the stats (10-12 Wisdom), and I mean I sold 20 overnight, and the other 20 the next day. It cost me around 200kk to buy the Sa runes, and made far more than a million in two days. Even if you buy the unmaged rings, it is still a huge profit for an hour’s work.
- Gobball Ring and Amulet: Good old Gobset. You may overlook it, but let’s think for a second: the large majority of the players are low levels, and what do they aim for? See? Forget about perfect life rings, and 15/15 amulets, that is so past time. The new trend is Strength and Intelligence maged rings and one stat, overmaged amulets. They worth at least five times as much as their regular counterparts.

It is probably a good idea to make a Profession Rune, so you are indexed in the craftsman list in the Smithmagus workshop. Charge people as you want, but be aware that word spreads fast: if you are polite and rather cheap, you will make more money on the long run. Note that you will make shitloads more if you mage for yourself, but a little bonus never hurts.


Now you will have some extra money to spend it on yourself...NO. You can make nice money out of Jewelmagus, but it is nothing compared to your next task, Shoemagus.
